Historical Information
The first Spanish explorers and missionaries first traveled here in the 1770's and almost two hundred years later in 1952, Los Altos was incorporated as a city.

Los Altos started as a small agricultural town with fruit trees dotting the landscape. With the upsurge of industrial growth in the Santa Clara Valley during the 1940's and 1950's, Los Altos grew into a larger community to meet the housing needs of those that worked in defense and aerospace industry. Today many Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and executives reside in Los Altos.

For more information on the history of this community visit the Los Altos History Museum which is located near the civic center in Los Altos.
